First, let’s explain what QuickBase is and then we can talk about why you need it to sync and what other programs you can sync with QuickBase!
Simply put, QuickBase is the best thing since sliced bread. Now, you cannot go to a client and just claim that you have something that is the next best thing, so let me tell you a bit more. I will give you the geek answer, then I will give you the answer so that you can talk with customers about it. By the end, I’m confident that you will agree with with my sliced bread analogy.
Intuit QuickBase is an online relational database, with customizable tables, fields, and relationships that you can develop into anything to run your or your client’s business. It can be used as a PAAS (Platform as a Service) or a SAAS (Software as a Service)…. WHAT!!!!
Ok, that was enough geek speak, now for the English version.
QuickBase is a database that is in the cloud, so you can utilize it from anywhere that you or your team members have internet access. QuickBase is where you are, period.
QuickBase can be used for a simple application, much like an Excel spreadsheet, or it can be a very complex application, similar to what can be built in Access, Excel, or other local database systems with multiple tables, screens, formulas, and colorization. Excel has become a simple business tool that everyone knows; my goal is that QuickBase become the same thing to the business community, because it can do everything that Excel does, PLUS it can be a very proactive tool and it eliminates a number of drawbacks that Excel presents. Excel files can only be used by a single user at a time. Excel can only tell you what has already happened, while QuickBase can remind you of what is coming up. QuickBase can email you that someone else completed a project or needs to start a new task, and it can send you a report automatically at the end of the day, week or month. In QuickBase, you can colorize reports to highlight information of varying importance, or impending due dates. QuickBase can even text you! As I am typing this, I feel that I am in the middle of a late night infomercial, because wait…there’s more!
Now that you are intrigued about QuickBase, let me give you the next big thing that has come to QuickBase. (Which is already the next best thing since sliced bread!)
Intuit just launched the QuickBase Sync.
The average business uses about 15 -18 separate applications to run their company. That’s a lot! Operating within so many applications presents many problems: they run independent of each other and some of them have duplicate pieces of information that the other applications also need to use. Currently, most teams have to re-key that duplicate data, or perform tedious manual imports of information since the programs don’t interact with each other.
The Intuit QuickBase Sync is the newest addition to the QuickBase platform. It connects QuickBase to a number of these external applications seamlessly!
With the native QuickBase functionality, you can create new tables to enter in your own data. Now you can create a “Connected” table. A connected table will connect securely to another program using your login credential for that application in order for you to not only download the information but keep the data in sync. You can set up the sync to happen on a schedule of your choosing (weekly, daily or even hourly). You can view the information from the other program and build upon that data, or you can compare data that you already have in QuickBase. Also, with this data inside of QuickBase you are able to control who sees what information. This is just the beginning of being able to have all of your data at your fingertips and be able to make better business decisions.
Currently, Intuit QuickBase has connected tables for Bill.com, Intacct, NetSuite, Intuit QuickBase, Intuit QuickBooks Online, Salesforce, ZenDesk and Zuora. This opens up endless possibilities for you and your clients.
Intuit QuickBase Sync is the place that you can bring together all of your business data to be able to save time, create holistic reports and make better business decisions.
