How did you like that headline description? Kind of makes you wonder where the theme music from 'Jaws' is, or if the slasher-background music is about to screech in like it would in one of those 'Freddie or Jason films', right? Believe you me, this feature is every bit as exciting... especially if you are an 'App-ologist specializing in eCommerce.'
About a month ago I made you ‘App Aware’ of A2X for eBay which not only lets you decide how you want your eBay data summarized but ensures your eBay data perfectly matches your bank feed transactions so that everything in your accounting (QBO or Xero) is in balance. I also told you that A2X had been building another eCommerce App at the same time as the one for eBay and that I would soon be reviewing A2X for Walmart which is for those users who need an app to work with Walmart's eCommerce Seller Center. Well, this is that review you have been waiting on pins-and-needles for.
A2X for Walmart
A2X for Walmart will eliminate hours of wasted time trying to reconcile your bank’s deposits against your Walmart Seller Center settlements. A2X for Walmart summarizes your data the way it should be to perfectly match your bank feed transactions so that everything in your accounting system balances. A2X for Walmart works with either QuickBooks Online or Xero.

You can set-up A2X for Walmart quickly and easily to import your Walmart settlements and post them to your accounting in a way that makes it easy to reconcile your sales, refunds, discounts, taxes, and shipping against the cash receipts. That means you will easily reconcile your transactions between the Walmart Seller Center and what’s being posted into your accounting via bank feeds, and your accountant or bookkeeper will be very happy with that outcome.
Configuring A2X for Walmart and QuickBooks Online
Even though A2X for Walmart will work with Xero, we are going to look at the steps to configure it for the Walmart Seller Center and QuickBooks Online.
Step 1 - Setting up A2X for a free trial with 'no' credit card required.
You can try the App now using easy to follow setup instructions. Then after your trial, if A2X is right for you, choose your subscription plan.

Step 3 – Finalize your A2X to Walmart Seller Center connection.
When a screen like the one below appears, you will input your Client ID and Client Secret, click the green ‘Connect Walmart’ button, and follow the remaining instructions. A2X integrates with your Walmart account as a read-only App so it won’t change any of your Walmart account data.

Once you are connected to Walmart you will be redirected back to A2X for Walmart and your first settlements will begin to be imported1. This process can take from 10 to 20 minutes (or longer) depending on the size of your Walmart account. For very large Walmart accounts the process can take several hours.

Note: if you are on a ‘free A2X for Walmart trial’ only a limited amount of data will be initially imported into A2X for Walmart (more information about the free trial limitation is contained in the footnote at the bottom of this article).
Step 4 - Connecting A2X for Walmart to your Accounting system.
A2X for Walmart can connect to either QuickBooks Online or Xero accounting, the process is very similar. We are illustrating the connectivity for QBO in this article.

Select 'Connect to QuickBooks' (when you see a screen like the one shown above), you will then be redirected to QuickBooks Online to authorize permission for A2X to access your accounting data. Follow the instructions to proceed with the standard OAuth2 Secure Connection methodology for App connectivity to QBO (part of that process is shown below).

Be aware that A2X won’t begin posting any data to QuickBooks Online until you direct it to do so.
Step 5 - Customize how you want A2X to post your Walmart settlements to QBO.
You must configure how A2X for Walmart will map your Walmart transactions into QuickBooks Online. A2X can create, by default, several generic accounts for this purpose, or you can create your own mapping. You may want to involve your accountant or bookkeeper in this process since it will impact how your Walmart transactions appear in your financial reporting.

You can customize how the A2X transactions are created; for example, you might wish to group sales by state/jurisdiction using the Settings > Invoice section of A2X. Grouping sales in this manner can help if you have specific tax requirements by state/jurisdiction.
Step 6 – Post Settlements into QuickBooks Online
After everything is connected, and you’ve configured how you want your Walmart transactions to post to your accounting you are ready to click the ‘Send’ link which will post settlements from the A2X for Walmart Dashboard to QuickBooks Online.

Transactions like the one above (shown in detail), that appear within the A2X for Walmart Dashboard will be posted to QuickBooks in accordance with the mappings you have specified.
Step 7 - A2X makes it easy to reconcile QBO.
Your settlements will show up in QuickBooks Online and you can easily reconcile them to the corresponding deposits. Each journal entry posted from A2X into QBO is a summary of your Walmart settlements (like the one shown below). They will match up perfectly with your bank transactions posted via QBO Bank-feeds.

Once you are connected to your Walmart Seller Center it’s a breeze. A2X for Walmart will summarize all your settlements and they will appear in the A2X dashboard ready to post to your accounting system (QuickBooks Online or Xero) just the way you want them so there are no headaches trying to match your Walmart activities with your bank feeds.
