Insightful Accountant strives to provide you, our QuickBooks Specialist, Accountant and Business Consultant readers with information about opportunities to serve your clients, build your practice, and bolster your compensation through this series we call ‘Advisor Alliance’. The focus of this series will be product developers and vendors who offer some form of alliance, partnership, or referral program that might be of interest to you and your practice.
In this edition of Advisor Alliance, we are going to look at the opportunities being afforded by Summit Hosting. I wrote a ‘First Look’ Review of Summit Hosting last week in which I contrasted their ‘dedicated server’ based hosting of QuickBooks against ‘QuickBooks hosting’ by many of other hosting companies that rely upon shared computer resources such as memory, bandwidth, and disk space. I essentially told you why ‘dedicated server’ hosting was better and shared the various benefits Summit Hosting afforded over other non-dedicated arrangements.
But this feature is about their Advisor Alliance offerings and why if you support clients who use products within the QuickBooks (Desktop) line-up, you should consider joining the Summit Hosting Partner Program. Really the same thing applies if you support clients who use any of the Sage Desktop Products-line. Now each of the actual ‘partner’ offerings will differ slightly depending on whether your clients are using QuickBooks or Sage, but they are more similar than they are different so I will focus on what’s common before I discuss differences.

Becoming a member of the Summit Hosting Partner Program creates an advantage for you in the way you do business with Summit, streamlining the process and allowing you to leverage not only the benefits of cloud hosting opportunities for your client, but also for yourself. It can produce a significant revenue-stream for you as well. You as the Partner will be able to work one-on-one with designated representatives at Summit who can support you in providing demonstrations of the product and features to your Client. You and/or your QuickBooks clients will have access to your sales and account management team to help with the clients’ questions both during the sale and implementation. As the referring Partner Program Partner, you will receive 10%-20% of the monthly user revenue on each account (excludes MS Office products, deposits, setup fees, extra application fees, MS SQL or additional resources) for the life of the account. Your fees will be paid out quarterly*.
As a ProAdvisor, CPA firm, bookkeeper, or technology consultant working with QuickBooks users, they not only rely on you to offer guidance when it comes to their technology but to assist them with their needs. That’s why Summit Hosting also makes it possible for you to continue to work with your clients along-side Summit to install, migrate and upgrade the client’s own software and data as well as assist them in their learning curve.
Many of the same provisions apply to Sage Resellers, but there are also some noted differences. While they can easily become a hero to their client by recommending Summit Hosting, and then working with their designated sales team to demo the features of hosting to each client, they can also experience some considerable revenue opportunities for themselves. These Resellers will Partner with Summit’s account team to setup clients within the system under full Admin privileges making it possible for them to install, migrate and upgrade the client’s Sage software and data. Resellers will have access to Summit 24/7 support and engineering team. As the Partner Program Partner, Resellers will receive 20%-30% of the monthly user revenue on each account (excludes MS Office products, deposits, setup fees, extra application fees, MS SQL or additional resources) for the life of the account, paid out quarterly*.
In either the case of QuickBooks or Sage qualified individuals there is no cost to become a member of the Summit Hosting Partner Program and you can get qualified through a 30-minute call discussing the program and provide you with additional information almost as soon as you complete the on-line application. The more you get to know Summit Hosting, the better position you are in to help your client’s when they are ready to migrate to Summit Hosting whether they are using QuickBooks or Sage.
If you would like more information about the Summit Hosting Partner Program see the official website, or contact Summit Hosting for other details via the designated Partner Program Sign-up webpage.
