Intuit's QuickBooks ProAdvisor Team has just announced a new 'Re-certification Window' for 2020. At press time the information made available to us addresses QuickBooks Online (Core & Advanced) ProAdvisors.
Re-certification is the process whereby ProAdvisors are kept current with all the changes in the QuickBooks Ecosystem by virtue of the new certification content and re-certification examinations. This year the ProAdvisor team looked at the dates of exam creation, the product roll-out cycles, the accounting calendar (tax return due dates*, etc.) and the amount of focus that ProAdvisors are having to provide in supporting their clients during this unprecedented time. Accordingly, Intuit decided to make both a change in the dates and lengthen the period of time available to ProAdvisors for the 2020 're-certification window.'
The "2020 Re-certification Window" for QuickBooks Online (Core & Advanced) ProAdvisors will be April 20, 2020 thru August 31, 2020.
Any ProAdvisor who passed the QuickBooks Online (Core or Advanced) Certification BEFORE November 1, 2019 MUST PASS the Re-certification Examination by not later than 11:59 PM (Pacific) on August 31, 2020 to maintain their certification status and benefits for the year.
Any ProAdvisor who passed either the QuickBooks Online (Core or Advanced) Certification ON or AFTER November 1, 2019 will NOT be required to complete re-certification during the '2020 Re-certification Window'.
Of course, QuickBooks Online ProAdvisor participants who are not certified, or who have previously allowed their certification to expire, may take the 'new' QuickBooks Online Certification at any time.
In order to help facilitate the "2020 Recertification Window" and process, Intuit will offer updated training content and virtual conferences to help ProAdvisors prepare for certification. More information about these training opportunities will be forthcoming at the QuickBooks Training Events Website.
In addition, QuickBooks Online ProAdvisors who are required to re-certify during 2020 will begin receiving Email notifications from the ProAdvisor Team today. And, Intuit's Firm of the Future website will be publishing a Blog with additional information and FAQs on these re-certification requirements very soon, whenever we have that URL we will post an update to this feature.
This Intuit content regarding the '2020 Re-certification window' DOES NOT address QuickBooks Desktop ProAdvisors. While Desktop ProAdvisors have shared a 'Common Re-certification Renewal Date' with Online ProAdvisors during the past two years, Intuit has not yet determined this year's re-certification renewal date requirements for Desktop ProAdvisors. As soon as Intuit makes such a determination, and notifies us, we will advise you in a future article.
