Intuit's recent fiscal year 2016, third quarter (Q3), results showed marked growth in their Online offerings. The Small business online ecosystem grew 24%, driven by online customer acquisitions. QuickBooks Online subscribers grew by 45%, bringing QBO to 1,397,000 customers worldwide as of the end of April. Outside the U.S., QuickBooks Online grew roughly 60%, to 255,000 paying subscribers. More than 80% of QuickBooks Online customers were new to the Intuit franchise.
Nearly 600,000 QuickBooks Online users are now linked to accountants, that figure is up 70% over last year. More than 100,000 QuickBooks Online-Accountants are now connected with at least three (3) QBO user-clients, more than double the same time one year ago.
In contrast to one year ago, there are now more than 2500 Apps in the Intuit Ecosystem, as contrasted with 1100 last year.
But QuickBooks Online isn't the only online offering showing increases. TurboTax Online grew by 15% during this tax season. Total TurboTax units grew by 12%. This is the 3rd year in a row that TurboTax gained share within the do-it-yourself tax software category.
For any of our readers interested solely in the monetrary metric, Intuit increased its revenue, operating income and earnings per share guidance for full-year fiscal 2016 which is revenue of $4.660 billion to $4.680 billion, growth of 11 to 12%.
