"Over the river and through the woods, to Grandmother's house we go...1"
I know, most people either read the poem, or sing that song, at Christmas time, but it's really just a joyous at Thanksgiving as at Christmas because this is the time of year when we celebrate not only the bounty we have, but more importantly express our 'thanksgiving' for the harvest, fellowship and abundance in our lives.
As we gather our family and friends around the table for Thanksgiving let us truly be thankful for the blessings that have been bestowed upon us.
We here at Insightful Accountant want you to know how grateful we are for the trust you have placed in us through your readership. We earnestly appreciate the opportunity of being one of your information resources and we look forward to continuing to serve that role in the future.
So, a very Happy Thanksgiving to you all from all of us at Insightful Accountant.
1 - 'The New-England Boy's Song about Thanksgiving Day' is more commonly known as "Over the River and through the Woods...". It was originally written as a 'Thanksgiving' poem, even though most people associate the song with Christmas, by Lydia Maria Child, and was published first in 1844 in a book of poems titled 'Flowers for Children' (Volume 2) at Poetry Foundation. Did you know that originally, the words were, "to Grandfather's house we go..." rather than 'Grandmother's house we go'?
