Private sector employment increased by 163,000 jobs from July to August according to the August ADP National Employment Report®. Broadly distributed to the public each month, free of charge. The ADP National Employment Report is produced by the ADP Research Institute® in collaboration with Moody’s Analytics. The report, which is derived from ADP’s actual payroll data, measures the change in total non-farm private employment each month on a seasonally-adjusted basis.

Good-producing - 24,000 (the biggest of which was manufacturing at 19,000)
Service-providing - 139,000 (the biggest of which were Professional/business services at 38,000, Leisure/hospitality at 25,000, Trade/transportation/utilities at 21,000, and Health care/social services 19,000)
