Enhanced payment options are coming to QuickBooks Payments. QuickBooks will soon be adding two payment options to give even greater convenience to your customers.
Payment-enabled invoices offer convenience and speed. On the customer side, it’s a lot easier to submit a payment digitally than write a check, find a stamp, and mail the payment. Pay-enabled email invoices cut out all of that. Customers can pay by card or enter their bank information. The ease of it may tempt them to pay early.
Well now, QuickBooks will give your customers two enhanced pay-enabled invoice options. One option will allow them to schedule when they pay the invoice, and the other will allow them to schedule recurring payments when they receive recurring invoices from you. Both options are designed to not only provide them with added convenience, but also help make certain that you get paid.
Online Payment Options for Single Invoice(s)
One of the enhanced options will give customers the ability to schedule online payments for a single invoice for a specific date in the future when the payment is most convenient for their financial situation. While this gives the customer considerable flexibility in scheduling when they make their payment they must still schedule it on, or before, the actual due date of the invoice they are paying. As with the Autopay option discussed above, customers also can elect to use either a credit-card or ACH (bank transaction) as their payment method of choice.
So, while you have previously had the convenience of the 'Pay Now' button in your online invoices, this lets you give your customers more choice in when they pay.
Auto-pay for Recurring Invoices
The second of the enhanced options will allow your customers to set-up automatic payments for recurring invoices with online payments enabled. With this Auto-pay option your customers will be able to save their payment information so that they can pay ever recurring invoice automatically on-time without hassle. They can elect to use either credit-card or ACH as their payment method of choice.

While you have previously been able to set-up recurring payments from the Sales Receipts workflow, this will be the first time that recurring payments can be configured to correspond to recurring invoices.
