Laura and Vic Madeira are what you might call a super accounting team. The husband and wife team run ACS Inc., a software sales and consulting firm located in the greater Dallas, Texas area they started in 1995. As President, Vic handles a majority of the firm’s complex technical clients—areas like new implementations, and their party software or app integrations.
Together, Laura and Vic focus their efforts on helping small- to mid-sized growing businesses become more successful by automating their internal accounting processes and reporting functions. These efforts are supported by their specialization in QuickBooks and Sage 100 Contractor consulting.
A perfectionist in honing his craft, Vic believes in keeping up with the newest technology available and best practices, and staying on top of training and continuing education, including webinars.
We sat down with Vic to his insights on what it means to be a "Top 100 ProAdvisor" and what he believes is the key to keeping up in 2022.
Give us a snapshot of your business.
We have been in business since 1995. We specialize in QuickBooks and Sage 100 Contractor consulting, and provide consulting and bookkeeping services. While our specialty is construction, we work with all industries. Our staff includes four full-time employees and one part-time.
How does your award fit into your firm's overall mission statement?
Both Laura and I have received a Top 10 award. We also have been in the Top 100 since the inception of that recognition. We feel it's a reflection of our commitment to provide our clients with excellent insights and training, as well as serving our peers in our industry.
How have you been leveraging the honor to promote your firm's success?
Besides using it in our social media and website, we have let our clients know about the awards. We aren't publicizing it much beyond that. But I have been asked to serve on an Intuit QuickBooks council, and I am certain it is because of our Top 100 recognition.
There will be great opportunities in 2022 as we start to come out of the pandemic doldrums. Be prepared to act quickly.

We continue to focus on building our advisory and bookkeeping side of our practice. We will be adding more capacity to grow our business. Our marketing efforts will take into account our industry recognitions.
Personally, we want to enjoy a bit more quality of life and delegate a bit more.
What are your expectations for 2022?
Achieving less than a 50% growth in revenue would be a disappointment. We want to get back to helping and encouraging our peers in the Dallas/Fort Worth area.
What's the best piece of advice you can offer your clients for 2022?
Know your numbers. Know how to use the information your accounting systems can give you to manage and grow your business. There will be great opportunities in 2022 as we start to come out of the pandemic doldrums. Be prepared to act quickly.
