Earlier this month at our local Woodard Group (formerly, NAN Chapter) Meeting, I had a conversation with one or our members named Malcom. As we were talking, I told him of a recent phone call with client where the client had told me that they "contracted a computer virus after his last log in at Intuit support." Since I have worked through numerous log-ins on behalf of clients with Intuit support and have never had computer virus problems, I attempted to assure the client this was not probable. But after talking with Malcom he suggested it was possible that the client actually had phoned a fake QuickBooks support number, that there are a multitude of internet listed companies all claiming to be QuickBooks Support, when in reality they are fakes.

What if we, the ProAdvisors, supply our clients with not only our own contact information but verified Intuit customer service & support numbers as well?
While I am happy that I have clients that feel capable enough to try and answer some of their own questions, I also understand they don’t always want to pay for help.
The plan is simple – email our clients a list of the most commonly needed Intuit customer service numbers. This can not not only insure they are using the correct 'entity', but will also demonstrate that we, "as trusted advisors", are looking-out for our clients and trying to help protect them. In addition to easing their frustration when there is a problem, they will be confident that they are in possession of the most up to date and verified valid numbers at their disposal.
I don’t believe we are going to lose clients by offering them Intuit help rather than insisting they call us; instead I think it strengthens the bond between us, and helps to confirm that we are a trusted resource.

Note: Intuit seems to almost continually change primary in-bound telephone support call centers. It is a good thing to check these numbers with available Intuit resources to determine applicability and update your own list and your clients, as necessary.
