Intuit has recently announced additional changes in their policy regarding 'Wholesale Billing' for Clients of firms using QBOA. They have also released additional information about soon-to-be-available features in the 'QBO-Advanced' product.
Wholesale Billing
Previously Intuit announced changes related to 'Wholesale Billing' for Clients of firms using QuickBooks Online-Accountant. The changes are scheduled to go into effect on November 1, 2018. Insightful Accountant first brought you those changes in our feature, and then reminded you again of those changes in the September edition of our QB Talks webinar.
Previously, it has been possible to migrate an existing user of QuickBooks Online with a non-wholesale billing subscription to your wholesale billing account. Thus allowing you, the Accountant, Bookkeeper or ProAdvisor, to take advantage of the 50% discount wholesale billing provides.
Effective November 1, 2018 the 'Wholesale Billing' discount will be available only for NEW QuickBooks Online subscriptions. If an existing QuickBooks Online subscription user becomes a client of a QBO-Accountant, the subscription will continue to be charged the then-current list price of their specific QBO subscription. Such subscriptions will NOT be eligible for any wholesale discount.
Subsequent to the announcement of the new policy, scheduled to take effect November 1, Intuit received several inquiries in regard to what would happen if an existing QBO subscription receiving the 'wholesale billing' discount while working with one QBO-Accountant account wished to transition to a different QBO-Accountant. In other words, a QBO User with wholesale billing provided through one Accountant (Bookkeeper or ProAdvisor) changes Accountants (Bookkeepers or ProAdvisors), would they be able to keep the 'wholesale billing' under their new Accountant (Bookkeeper or ProAdvisor)?
In response to these inquiries, Intuit has amended the new policy (effective November 1, 2018) to provide an exception for QBO clients who currently have the 'wholesale billing discount' with one QBO-Accountant firm and then moves their business to a new QBO-Accountant firm so long as as the change is made within 60-days. This means if you, an Accountant, Bookkeeper or ProAdvisor, acquire a customer who is already on QBO and was receiving the Wholesale Discount from their prior firm, you can call Intuit within 60 days and Intuit can transition them to the 50% discount under YOUR Wholesale Billing account!

QuickBooks Online-Advanced
"This is about the 'product', not the 'certification' folks." For those of you who may not yet be aware, Intuit announced a few months back that they were launching a new product, 'QuickBooks Online-Advanced' to select customers. Liz Scott and I termed it "QBO on steroids" when we discussed it during the September edition of Insightful Accountant's QB Talks webinar.
This more robust version of QuickBooks Online is designed to meet the needs of growing clients with a bigger workforce (typically 10 to 100 employees) and who need on-line access for more users (it initially will accommodate up to 25 users). These users will also typically have more complex business needs, and average twice as many (or more) transactions as a typical QBO user.
Intuit has just announced a couple of 'new' key features that are already being readied for release (update) within QBO-Advanced. The 1st new feature is Import Invoice functionality which is designed to increase productivity by providing a mechanism for the importing of hundreds of invoices created outside of the product. The 2nd new feature is Custom User Permissions; which allows the administrator to apply unique user permissions to manage data access and delegate individual product feature access for optimized productivity and security.
