This month’s QB Talks will be held at 1:00 pm Eastern time on Wednesday June 10 (and repeated at 6:00 pm Eastern time). We will be examining the most common QuickBooks issues associated with improper Sales Taxes balances.
Collecting and paying sales tax can be complicated for some companies. For example, a company may have to collect and pay more than one sales tax. Many companies have a mix of taxable and non-taxable products and services to sell, and many also have some customers that are taxable while other customers are not. These complexities along with requirements for accrual or cash basis tracking of sales tax, regardless of your own business accounting methodology can produce a variety of errors.
The most common sales tax errors stem from either sales tax being improperly configured in QuickBooks, or sales tax being improperly paid in QuickBooks. Many times problems occur when QuickBooks users make sales tax payments using either the Write Checks or Pay Bills features, rather than the Pay Sales Tax feature. But it isn’t uncommon for all of these problems to exist and when that is the case, resolving sales tax issues becomes a multi-step process.
Join me for this one hour webinar as we examine these common errors, their symptoms, methods for diagnosing the specific problems, and troubleshooting these issues to return your sales tax records to their proper balances. We will also look at a way that you can rid yourself of these headaches and out-source your sales tax management.
