In our initial announcement of this year's ProAdvisor of the Year, and Top 100 ProAdvisor competition, we indicated that the deadline for formal applications would be February 13, 2015. We that just isn't the case now, and to be real honest, I even forgot we put that date in there till someone was kind enough to send me an email asking if that was still the case (today).
At the time of that initial article we had expected an early January cut-off for the nomination process; however we elected to extend the nomination period by two weeks because we didn't realize that 90% of the nominations were going to be made in the last 5 minutes of the process. (OK, I might have exaggerated just a little there, but there was a mighty last minute rush, and we were not sure that our system actually allowed all the last minute nominations to get filed, so we extended.)
At the conclusion of the nomination process I published a blog article telling you that we anticipated opening the formal application process within 2 weeks; however, the complexity of our new formal application (for example it gives you the choice of over 300 QuickBooks related products with which you might have some level of affiliation) has required slightly more tweaking before we intend to 'let you at it.' So we are running late on getting nominees the notification of nomination and the web-address where they can 'complete' the formal application.
We will be sending those notices out,and opening the formal application web-site within just a few more days.
All I can say is 'don't fear' we are still 'ahead of last year', and there is absolutely no doubt in our mind that we will have 100 Top ProAdvisors, 10 Categorical Winners and the ProAdvisor of the Year selected by Scaling New Heights this June.
So let me just say again, to all you nominees, when you receive your formal Notice of Nomination and Instructions for Formal Application, you will be given not only the web-address for the Application Form, but the Deadline by which your Formal Application must be completed.
Thank you for your patience, I wish there were 10 of me, and 20 of Gary, to help get through this process, but as is we are both, doing our best, to make sure the process runs as smoothly as possible for each 'actual step' along the way. (I mean we wouldn't want to 'rush in to a step' and then find out we couldn't perform, like someone else we all know.)
