You may not be Amazon or a big box online store, but if you're a retailer, especially one that has an online shopping cart, you had best be ready for today – "Cyber Monday."
According to the National Retail Federation's "Cyber Monday Expectation Survey," 122 million Americans plan to shop online during Cyber Monday this year. That's up more than one million new shoppers over last year.1
Nearly 28 million of those will shop from their mobile devices, while another 98 million will shop from their home computers. Additionally, 11 million will shop from their work computers (we promise not to tell).
According to the survey, conducted by Proper Insights & Analytics, Americans are finding shopping online more convenient than ever before, even while traveling, email or or relaxing at home. (I hope they don't mean driving their cars when they say traveling.)
The study also shows that this trend is associated with all ages of consumers. Why? Because retailers deliver more online discounts on Cyber Monday than any other day of the year.
Traditional large brick-n-mortar stores like Neiman Marcus, Home Depot and Best Buy are offering savings online far above those available in their stores. Some are even teaming up at one-stop-online-shops like CyberMonday.com to provide promotional savings and hundreds of special offers.
SMBs set to take advantage of Cyber Monday with special value pricing, discounts, sales and promotions configured in their online shopping carts are sure to clean-up as well.
Why? Because smart shoppers, even your regular walk in customers or occasional online buyers have come to expect Cyber Monday deals from all their favorite retailers – even you.
Well, are you ready?
