....You could be here at Scaling New Heights.
Scaling New Heights 2014
One of my favorite James Bond movies is ‘A View to a Kill’ in part because the theme was performed by Duran Duran. The villain Max Zorin is portrayed by Christopher Walken, and the plot centers around Zorin’s attempt to produce a massive earthquake in the vicinity of Silicon Valley (not far from Intuit’s Campus) in order to create a multiplicative increase in the price of computer chips. At one point, while flying over the Golden Gate Bridge in a Blimp, Zorin’s companion says “What a view….”, and Zorin adds “to a Kill.” Then Bond escapes from the Blimp onto the superstructure of the Bridge soon to be followed by Zorin, this thrilling sequence is the highlight and pretty much the conclusion of the movie when Zorin falls to his death.
Well you might not corner the market on computer chips, but you can sure ‘make a killing’ when you pick-up all the QuickBooks tips, tricks and work-arounds that will be passed out at this year’s Scaling New Heights. If you are looking thrills (and getting to meet Murph at the IA booth isn’t enough), you are certain to find ‘the view’ from the beautiful JW Marriott San Antonio Hill Country Resort (and for you golfers) ‘par excellence’. Unfortunately Duran Duran won’t be performing at any of the featured events, but who knows you might be lucky enough to get a glimpse of Lebron James when the Miami Heat comes to San Antonio for the NBA finals. My little buddy ‘NaNu’ might even peek out of his flying saucer somewhere in the Exhibit Hall.
So when Tuesday morning rolls around, where will you be? Chances are you will find me in one of the free breakfast presentations; I haven’t decided yet, but it might be the one on Avalara Tax opportunities, or ScanWriter technology. Why just sit around with a muffin and some juice when you can have all that and an informative presentation as well.
Later in the day you will find some more opportunities to obtain pre-examination training for Intuit Certifications and then there are these ‘100 minutes with’ sessions. Do you have tax clients, if so you may want to get training on Intuit’s Tax Online product, or learn more about Enterprise Solutions. There are all kinds of ‘new’ sessions covering both QuickBooks desktop and online products. Some of the workshops of interest include Excel training, Intuit Field Services and SmartVault. Various Method classes also are available.
If you are currently involved with, or seeking to expand your practice into non-profits, you will find a couple of sessions dealing with this complex area and making use of QuickBooks to properly account for fund based entities.
Business topics available Tuesday afternoon include ‘budgeting’, fraud prevention, internal controls, partnerships, and ‘partnering for profitability’, which is about ‘teaming up’ with other ProAdvisors . Of course, Scaling New Heights provides you with plenty of opportunities to meet and develop relationships with other ProAdvisors. You might just find that you can ‘team up’ with all kinds of specialists to assist you when you take on that ‘first client with a specialized need’ you have never dealt with before.
You absolutely WILL NOT want to miss Tuesday Afternoon's 'General Session', Intuitive Accountant will present our Top Ten ProAdvisors as well as the ProAdvisor of the Year for 2014. We know you can hardly wait....
The big ‘thrill’ of Scaling New Heights is always making new friends and learning more than you can possibly remember in the few hours you spend in training. So don’t miss out, Scaling New Heights will be here before you know it and it will be ‘a View (and a thrill) of a lifetime.’
