I love this new feature. No matter your role; bookkeeper, accountant or Do-it-yourself small business owner, details are a "GREAT' thing. Attachments can safeguard bookkeepers and accountants by making details visible to all users.
So why do I say "love"... because as the world changes more bookkeeping is being outsourced which can leave parties open to misunderstanding resulting from a lack of communication, thus producing the need for accountants and bookkeepers to to be transparent in all their actions.
When large, or perhaps questionable, deposits or expenses are recorded, adding an attachment through the bank register is clearly a “best practice" that communicates what those deposits or expenses are, by enabling all parties to easily view the originating source document.
To enable attachments (as shown to the right):
Open your Bank Register > Table Gear > Add Attachment
(Note: Be on the look-out for "QBO Monday Minute" next week, we will show you another way to store images in QBO from a smart device.)
