Some of you may know me as the person who works with law firms. Most of the articles I have written have focused on software for that market.
But lawyers are just a part of the professional services market. While some of their needs are different, they have a lot in common with other professional services firms. And I work with all of them.
At "Scaling New Heights" this year, all of my hats will come out – and not just to deal with the sun. I'll be teaching a course called, “Becoming an Advisor to Professional Services Firms.”
If you're an accountant, you're already a member of this esteemed group, which includes actuaries, architects, engineers, consultants, and many more. It’s a huge market.

When I started my business 25 years ago, I did bookkeeping for small businesses. Over time, I found training more interesting than doing, so I evolved my business into training and consulting.
I'm not sure I planned my specialization, but I eventually worked more and more with professional services firms, including lawyers. Thus, my specialization was born, although I sometimes say I was drawn to it because my dad was a lawyer and a CPA, and my mom was a bookkeeper.
I love working with professional services firms. They understand time and billing, and usually recognize the value of bringing in an “expert.”
I look forward to sharing my knowledge and experience with you at "Scaling New Heights 2017" at sunny Walt Disney World. You'll have to stick around, as I'm teaching on Wednesday afternoon, but I will do my very best to make it worthwhile.
Look for me before the presentation as well, as I enjoy meeting people, chatting and learning new things. I plan to be at the entire conference.
