The Hazards of Public WiFi

It's obvious some readers are confused about this VPN.

Based on some of the questions and emails I have gotten today, it seems that many of you might never have heard of VPN-service App for your ‘mobile devices’ which is what I referenced in this article when I pointed you to the PC Magazine link about the Best VPN Services for 2017. These service-based Apps can be very valuable tools that, in my opinion, everyone should have on their mobile devices, especially if they are going to connect to the office or home personal computers via their mobile device.
The protection provided by these VPN service Apps offer many advantages, not the least of which is the prevention of someone sharing the same Public Wi-Fi (hotspot) from intercepting your Web traffic in a man-in-the-middle attack.
I don’t claim to be a cryptography expert, so I am not even going to attempt to verify all of the encryption claims the various VPN-service App providers make. But what I can say is that you are far ‘more protected’ running one of these VPN-service Apps on your mobile device, when using Public Wi-Fi, then when using Public Wi-Fi without one of these VPN-service Apps.
