QBES-15 New Sub-total Items for Transaction Columns
So you have 102 items total in the box being shipped, with different quantities for about 40 different items; you do your best to insure that each item has been packaged, but it would sure help if you really knew if the total quantity on the QuickBooks Packing Slip equaled 102 or some other number. In QuickBooks you have to pull out the pocket calculator and add-up the quantities for each item to come up with the total....well until now in QuickBooks Enterprise 15.
New for 2015 is a new Enterprise feature that allows you to create a Subtotal item to display the total column value for Amount, Quantity, Price or Cost (or all four) on sales and purchase transactions. Figure 2 shows an example of a 'Quantity Sub-total' that computes the total quantity from the various entries in the Quantity Column. It's simple to add the specific sub-total you want (for any column) once you have set-up the Sub-total Item for that column.
To create a new Subtotal Item type for a specific column of a sales/purchase form, begin at the Menu bar, then select Lists, now choose the Item List, at the bottom of the list at the left side, click the Item menu dropdown, now select New, then choose the Subtotal item type. Figure 3 shows how the new subtotal item is configured. Give the subtotal an Item Name that reflects what column is being totaled, such as "Total Quantity", then select the appropriate Column from the Columns to total scroll-box. Click OK to save the new subtotal item.
