Tech Challenges For Retail Clients
The recent Intuitive Accountant - Dydacomp survey revealed some interesting insight into the technology challenges faced by ProAdvisors retail clients. Challenges = Opportunities.
Intuitive Accountant recently performed a study in conjunction with Dydacomp in which we asked questions about our readers, their clients and the business challenges for both.
We previously published the profile of our readers, based on the responses received in the survey. This week we are focusing on the challenges that our readers told us their clients are facing. Take a look and see if your client base is facing similar issues and please let us know how your clients stack up against those represented in the study.
We had two sets of questions that we worked from in the survey. One set for retail clients and one set for non-retail clients. It’s interesting to see the differences and similarities in the two client types.
Retail Client Challenges as Related to Technology
43% Inventory Management as a top challenge
35% “Accounting Related” as a top challenge
28% Sales Tax Compliance
23% Technology Implementation
18% Ecommerce Integration
17% Order Management
Non-Retail Client Technology Challenges
61% Accounting Related
50% Technology Implementation
35% Document Management
28% Time Tracking
26% Data Security
So what does this tell you? It tells me where opportunities exist and where you may want to direct your business for growth. If you can fill the service needs in the top challenge areas for retail and/or non-retails clients, then you can bring value to your business clients their current advisor does not bring. It seems that these “service areas” offer the most opportunity for business growth for ProAdvisors and other business advisory service firms.
What do you think? Is there “gold” in these areas?
