I just had this error in a new ES14.0 R4 file!

I just built a new ES14.0 R4 file with Advanced inventory FIFO turned on. The Client has used this file now since January and now I'm getting the error you are talking about! It looks like it's with one item right now. The rebuild fixed it. Is there something I can do with the one assembly item associated with the error. I don't think this is the only item with the error, but it's the only one I noticed so far.

I would love to see the error, if rebuild fixed it.....

The cockroach "target errors" were not affected by Rebuild, nor even sophisticated repair procedures, so if you have the QBWin.log files before and after the rebuild, I would very much like to review those.

This happened to me last week!

This error existed in the data file and as you mentioned the Support Article on the Intuit site had no solutions. We were also troubleshooting an out of memory problem. QB Enterprise v 14 release 4 . During the process we rebuilt the data file at least 3 times (could have been more) but finally the file verified.

I didn't find QuickBooks Rebuild any solution at all...

I put a copy of one file on a machine with a scheduler that continually ran 'rebuild', then 'verify', then repeated the process over-n-over. This had no effect in the case of the test file.

I am 'surprised' that rebuild successfully 'killed off the cockroaches' in your case.

What versions are affected?

Is this specific to a particular version 2012, 2013, 2014 or older? While I have not seen this with any of my clients files, most of my clients are using 2012. Only a few are in 2013. Does it matter how big the company file is? Some more specifics on which company files types or sizes that are affected would help us be prepared for what could happen. Cockroaches tend to make a very loud hissing or screeching sound and I really don't want my clients to start screaming about this possible infestations.

Wish I had more specifics for you....

There really are not any specifics yet, we have seen this in 2013 and 2014 Enterprise files. There is no reason to believe that this is 'file size' related.

Thanks for the warning!

While hoping I don't see this with any of my client's files, I also hope that someone figures out the source of the problem and proffers a fix ASAP!

What can we do to prevent them?

This is scary. I hate cockroaches. Which QuickBooks are you referring to? 2014, or all of them? Which release? The latest or all of them?

Case-in-point: QuickBooks Enterprise 2013 R11

There is nothing in the data to indicate that these bugs are unique to any specific version, release or flavor of QuickBooks.
