Where are the ports?

Qyuckbooks has a lot of problems with different security software because of numerous ports and file permissions on Windows, thank fully all of this is managed by my it admins at www.techarex.net, they provided me quickbooks hosting in the cloud and I never faced any new problem

Quickbooks Best Practices

Playing devil's advocate here. Please explain why a dedicated QB Enterprise server with 15 users and currently 30gb of data needs a 1 TB hard drive? As well, with 15 users attached the servers resources never exceed 5gb of RAM Why is 20 gb needed?

Assumptions are the best answer

Several assumptions are in play here. When we say dedicated server we me a computer that is dedicated as the server on a network which among other tasks will 'host' QuickBooks; we are NOT using the term dedicated to mean that this server will ONLY host QuickBooks and will not be supporting any other software or operational requirements. We are also making the assumption that the server is running server software. The minimum RAM required for Windows Server 2012 is 4GB, but the recommended RAM is 16.

We make the assumption that a minimum of two files maybe called into use at the same time, this is in fact the entire reason behind the 'multi-instance' functionality of QuickBooks Enterprise implemented a few years back. Experience has shown that two files being supported simultaneously perform far better in an environment that is at least 150% of the minimum Intuit specifications.

Since our experience is based upon working with thousands of users in hundreds of different client installations, and hundreds of physical hardware configurations, we make these assumptions based upon the typical clients we have dealt with. We then make our recommendations for 'best practice' (as opposed to Intuit's minimum requirements) accordingly.
