What can we do to verify Memory Loss?

Murph great article. How can we test for Memory Loss? Or can we? I only have one client with Enterprise and every so often the computer just shuts down and we have to restart. Could this be a memory loss issue? My client has a server that everything is stored on(?) or at least we thought it was. They only have one other user that access the files from a second computer. However we do have sales reps that upload their hand held data every night (15) of them. I need to know if we are having memory leaks? How to detect them and correct this issue before a major crash.

Memory leak detection is very complex

True memory leak detection is a very complex aspect of computer programming science. While there are some commercially available 'tools' to perform such routines they are specific to the programming language and require full source code access.

We just have to await Intuit's work to correct these matters, there is nothing that users can do to remedy this situation themselves.

Your other issues sound related to your 'environment', you might review some of the articles I wrote on diagnostics including hardware and network infrastructure.

Best of luck,

Murph
