How many times can you attempt QBO Online Certification exam once you have failed 4 attempts to a particular section?

The QBO Online Exams

You are allowed 4 attempts to pass the QuickBooks Online (Basic) Certification, if you do not pass within those attempts you must wait to take the exam again until either there is a 'new' exam, or' one year' which ever comes first (as I understand it).

You have three attempts to re-take any failed section of the QuickBooks Online Advanced Certification Exam, and I believe that the same standard applies as to renewed eligibility a new exam or one year (whichever comes first). This is why after the first version was withdrawn and the 2nd version issues that everyone had four total attempts to pass the new (2nd edition) exam, so long as you are still 'certified' in the most current version of the QB Online (Basic) Certification Exam.

But again these are my interpretations of the exam guidelines specified in the 'more information' section of your QuickBooks ProAdvisor Certification window for each of the specific examinations.

I passed it yesterday

I was a big fail in December on the first module, burned through four attempts and felt I had entered correct answers to the three questions I missed at least once. I went through the materials again in anticipation and took the entire exam yesterday. It was appropriately hard, had the right amount of things that would trick those who are not paying attention to every detail, and a good amount of general testing of bookkeeping and accounting knowledge. I used Chrome without problems. I think they have made a good exam, and I obviously did not think so in December.

How do you print out the exam questions before taking the test?

When I went to the exam, the implication is that if you click on the "Take Exam" button, it will count as one try (out of four) even if you save and exit.

You can come and go from the exam at will

While it does count as your first attempt the moment you open the exam, you can save and exit the exam as many times as you want. There is no time frame in which you must complete any 'one' attempt.

When we were going through the first 'course' on the new exam at QuickBooks Connect we were advised that we should go thru the exam and screen print, or use a tool like Snag-it to capture the questions to review along with the study guides. This is the same approach people who have been taking the QB-Desktop Advanced Exam have been following for years.

Best of luck

QBO Exam Error

I tried to take the exam today, and get an error from the website that runs the exam that my user cannot be found. Trying using firefox right from the QBOA dashboard....

There were problems today....

My understanding is that there were problems with the ProAdvisor 'certification and examination' server today that limited and/or totally precluded access to any of the certification tests today. The extent to which this impacted the overall ProAdvisor community and/or for how long it might have, is unknown to me,

Advanced badge...

Did they change the badge again? in the last 4 months ? They had advanced in red stripe previously, but now no red. ? .

George Williams more than 1 year ago

Actually I think WE used an older picture of the badge.

The original version didn't have a red stripe, and we were provided with a press copy of that badge for publication. I don't think we have received an updated copy for print purposes, but YOU are absolutely correct, the current 'official' version of both the Desktop and Online Advanced badges contain a red chevron.
